Our Team, working hard for YOU!

Maya Radunz President

Hi there! My name is Maya and I am a Foods & Nutrition teacher at Steinbach Regional Secondary School. In the past three years I have served on council, I have realized that MHETA is more than a professional development group. MHETA is a network of opportunity, it is a support system, and it is a friendship! Because of the dedicated hard work of its members, MHETA exists today. I feel privileged to be president and honoured to carry on this legacy, ensuring a bright future for MHETA. When I'm not busy with school prep, student council or MHETA, I love to spend time with my two cats, husband and sewing machine!

I am the treasurer for MHETA and have been for a very long time. I teach Foods and Nutrition at John Henderson JH and we have grade six to grade nine classes in our school.  My personal interests are working out at the Wellness Institute seven days a week.  I also enjoy walking my dog Buddie who is a seven pound Yorkie poo.

Oleksa Balko Membership

My name is Oleksa Balko, your token male of MHETA! I am a brand new foods and nutrition teacher at Glenlawn Collegiate and am very excited to be in this profession. I have a love for the outdoors, as well as physical and mental wellness. I am an overall pretty laid back kind of guy! My nutrition degree has fueled my passion to educate young minds on how to make healthy choices in their lives and how important the food we eat is to our bodies!
